At Science Stations for Order, Freedom and Neutral factions you can exchange Alien Artifacts and Alien Parts for Science Points (talking to the Chief Scientist or Chief Engineer). Each Alien Artifact and Alien Part, regardless of item cost is exchanged for 10 Science Points. Therefore it might be better to sell the more expensive Alien Parts and Artifacts and only use the cheaper ones for Science Points.
